Backstage with Cumbian Colors

Preparing for the last concert of 2024

On the morning of the last concert of 2024, I felt uncertain about the reception of a concert that was new in many aspects for Nova audiences. I knew many had already decided to come to the show, but it was the first concert that was 100% danceable. A party!

I arranged with the band leader to meet in the middle of the afternoon for the sound check and production specifics. We started to set up the gear and mics, and the sound of Cumbian Colors slowly filled the empty room. For the first time, I felt their positive energy and camaraderie! I knew then that it would be a great night!

Cumbian Colors is not only a band of dedicated and talented musicians but also great friends! One can feel their respect for each other’s contributions to the music they love to play together! Their leader, Yannik “El Vikingo” Hartig, is a seasoned percussionist in the Latin Scene in Denmark and a wonderful guy to work with. He is aware of everything around the band musically and logistically, making everyone’s “life” in the band easier 😁 as well as mine as the Nova producer!

On this occasion, I had the fantastic photographer Bjorn Bertheussen take pictures of the final preparations before going on stage and during the concert. But the ones from backstage told the whole story of that beautiful night—a night I will always remember as the last concert of 2024, the party with Cumbian Colors at Nova Concerts! Thanks for the concert, guys! And for everyone out there, keep tuned with Cumbian Colors. Their album is dropping very soon!
